Last week of Training term 1 2022

Wow! What a chaotic term to say the least. Thank you for all for your continued support even through the floods and covid. It is our last week of training for the term. Come along for the kids to enjoy the end of term games or get their new belt if they recently graded (woot).

After this week we are taking a short 2 weeks break and will resume 19/04/2022. If you are ever wondering when training is on, just follow the school Qld dates 🙂

thank you

28/02/2022 and 2/01/2022 Classes CANCELLED

Due to the flooding in south east Queensland we have decided to cancel all classes this week. We are so sorry for this inconvenience but we want to ensure everyones safety and limit road travel during these times.
We are thinking of those affected by the flooding during these times. Please keep safe everyone.

Updated training start date for 2022

With the announcement of the new school start date training will now resume back on the 7th OF FEBRUARY.
We decided this delay in the start date was the best decision with the increase in Covid cases and to allow the club to continue follow the school term dates.
As always, we appreciate your continued support and understanding with this matter.
We are sorry if we caused any inconvenience and hope to see you back at training soon!
Please spread the word on the new start date for the IPSWICH CLUB.
If you are any enquires regarding the Ipswich club please use the following link and Carolynn will get back to you as soon as possible:
Keep being awesome and can’t wait to see you all back at training.

Chris Haseman is Joining us @ Lang Park PCYC

On the 9th of November we will be joined Chris “the Hammer” Haseman at the Lang Park PCYC Dojo next to Suncorp Stadium.

If you are an avid grappler, sparrer or general MMA Fanatic, you need to definitely join us for our Senior class at 7:30pm. Many MMA fans would know the name Chris Haseman but many people may not  realise Chris’ coach and father is actually our head instructor and founder of Tohkon Ryu Jujitsu, Shihan Mark Haseman.

Together, with this dynamic Duo taking class, there is no doubt this will definitely an awesome evening of training.

All students over 16+ are welcome to join. Whether you train at our Lang Park club, Ipswich or at any other club, you will be welcomed with open arms which will then probably get arm locked.

Definitely bring along your grappling gi if you have one!

If you have any questions regarding the lang park class on Tuesday feel free to contact us here.

We’re Back! Woohooo

Hello Families and students! We have missed you!

There are a few changes that you will need to make note of now that we are back to training.

1.  With the new arrangement of hall hire agreement with the PCYC, Carolynn Ding will now be doing the hall hire for Tohkon Ryu Jujitsu at the Ipswich PCYC. Shihan Mark Haseman and all the other amazing black belts and volunteers we have on the mat will still be there and very much involved. Nothing will have changed with the classes and training times except any enquires you may have for classes are now going to Carolynn.

2. You will no longer go to the PCYC front desk to book into class. Head straight on over to the Dojo and Carolynn or one of the many amazing volunteers will help check you into class and take your payment.  There will be eftpos available if you wish to pay by card or paywave  However, if you need to swipe your card our little eftpos square can’t accommodate this.  Alternatively, if you wish to purchase a 10 or 20 pack for classes you can do so here . There has also been a slight increase in the cost of classes, this is simply to cover any additional surcharges and the rent of the hall. Children:$8.50 and Adults: $10 (These prices only refer to the Ipswich Club)

3. All parents and senior students will be required to sign a new waiver before hoping on the mat. Don’t worry you aren’t signing your life away, it will just be an agreement that you agree that you are aware that there are risk to doing a contact sport and you acknowledge that if in the unlikely chance you or your child got hurt that Carolynn and Tohkon Ryu Jujitsu would hold no liability for this.

4. Finally, everyone over the age of 12 will need to wear mask on the mat too. We are following the qld mask regulations. Therefore, all coaches will be wearing masks when they can’t socially distance and same with the students. If we begin strenuous exercise, such as ground fighting or sparring the masks can be removed during this time. Additionally, if you have a lawful exemption to wear a mask simply just let Carolynn or Mark know.

If you’ve made it to the end of this post congrats! Thank you for reading. We can’t wait to see you back at training. Make sure if you have a questions to contact us here and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
